Stacey Watson

EXPERIENCE

Before founding Markery Law, Ms. Watson served as in-house trademark counsel to two of the largest companies in the world, Walmart Stores, Inc. and Verisign, Inc. In those roles, she managed and coordinated trademark searching, prosecution and enforcement for the U.S. and International trademark portfolios and supervised outside counsel in U.S. and International trademark and domain name disputes, acquisitions and divestitures. That in-house experience provided her with the ability to provide a unique perspective on business solutions as well as legal solutions to various matters.

Ms. Watson has also worked for AmLaw 100 law firms where she managed the firm’s trademark team. She began her career as the Publications Editor for the International Trademark Association (“INTA”) and as a former Trademark Examining Attorney at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Ms. Watson provides advice and counseling on trademark, copyright and branding. She focuses her practice on international trademark prosecution and management including trademark clearance, negotiating trademark and copyright assignments and licenses, and conducting due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures.

Interests

Ms. Watson is a wife and a mom to two young men (both of whom attend Penn State – WE ARE) and one best girl labradoodle. She enjoys walking, hiking, jogging, and skiing with friends and family. You can also find her on various collegiate cross-country courses and track bleachers, watching live music whenever possible, attending theater productions, and traveling. She also loves visiting family in Door County Wisconsin and relaxing poolside in Fenwick Island, Delaware.
