EXPERIENCE

Ms. Downham is a Senior Associate Attorney at Markery Law. She leverages trademark enforcement, clearance research, and efficient management of IP portfolios to help clients build brand value in the United States and globally.

Ms. Downham handles all aspects of trademark clearance, registration, office action responses, licensing, and enforcement. Her practice includes advising on high-profile brand management issues such as anti-genericism, anti-counterfeiting, portfolio audits, and domain name disputes. Ms. Downham has supported clients through the full corporate development cycle, including IP due diligence, assignment agreements, and brand integration during mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Downham provides practical, business-minded counsel and builds lasting relationships based on trust and responsiveness.

Before joining Markery Law, Ms. Downham was an associate in an Am Law 200 law firm’s trademark practice, counseling clients across diverse industries, including nonprofits, sports and entertainment, semiconductors, machine and transmission components, construction equipment, start-ups, software services, and consumer products.

Interests

Ms. Downham loves spending time with her husband and two children, exploring parks and museums in Indianapolis and the Midwest. She is a die-hard fan of Notre Dame football and basketball (Go Irish!), enjoys long-form podcasts about Hollywood history, and has memorized most of Taylor Swift’s song lyrics. She grew up on a grain and beef cattle farm in Indiana and, before becoming an attorney, worked as a journalist and newspaper copy editor.
